The Bandlab team have created a handy article that explains how to reduce noticable latency when working with Bandlab - help.bandlab.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002959414-How-do-I-troubleshoot-latency If you're working with Scarlett, you can also use the direct monitoring feature to hear the signal from your inputs in real-time, without any noticeable latency.

Vocaster features a 70dB gain range that is generally enough to work with any mic. It also has an Auto Gain feature that you can use to automatically set an appropriate gain level.

Unlike the larger models in the range, Scarlett Solo 4th Gen doesn't feature Auto Gain and Clip Safe.

We apologise for any disappointment this may have caused. Unfortunately, we had to end development support for our Saffire FireWire devices at the end of 2019, approximately 10 years after their release. Generally speaking, we offer a minimum of 2 years of development support when a product is discontinued. In the case of Saffire, we were able to extend this support to over 5 years. Similarly, the VRM Box was discontinued several years ago and is not officially compatible with any operating systems released after OS X 10.9 Mavericks. Changes to current operating systems have resulted in incompatibility issues that we are unable to address. However, your products should continue to function well if used with a compatible operating system.

I understand you can't keep tweaking an old driver forever, but you could release the source code to the open-source community. I'm sure they would make the necessary tweaks to make it work again. Also it would be really nice of you... I'm sure your customers would be grateful.

Hailey is working with Logic Pro in this video but Scarlett can be used with any digital audio workstation (DAW).

Using your argument, capturing higher frequencies present in the audio source would, in fact, result in a more accurate recording of the audio source

@@giabgr Sorry, but no...the statement is factual and correct. What you read into it is on you. However, even with you reading "resolution" into the statement, It's still correct. From Science Direct - "Sampling rate specifies how often the conversion takes place. A faster sampling rate will provide a better representation of the original signal" and "High sampling rates allow more accurate capture of the peak values of the analog signal. This leads to a more precise analog-to-digital conversion. This provides not only a better time base resolution but also good resolution in the frequency domain". Do any research anywhere and you'll find the same. If you disagree past that, I don't know what to tell you.

No, higher sample rates simply capture higher frequencies. Google 'digital audio myths'.

Clarett is a different range of interfaces than the Scarlett range. The main differences are mic input levels (Clarett is about double that of Scarlet) and maximum frequency response (Clarett 20Hz to 38kHz and Scarlett 20Hz to 20kHz)

I have both and I would say yes. Ensure that you have great hardware like capable pc, good monitors and good headphones, mic and cables, drivers, and it's you will become a fidelity fanatic.

Scarlett is plug-and-play on Mac. For use with Windows, you just need the USB driver, which is included with the installation of Focusrite Control 2. Once installed Scarlett is ready to use with any audio application of your choice. By creating an account on our website and registering your Scarlett, you will have access to a selection of optional software offers. None of these programs are fundamental, we just provide some options to get you started. For most of the offers, we supply an activation code and a link that you can use to redeem the offer on the software manufacturer's website.

I’ve done it doesn’t work it’s a scam it’s just a lump of metal and wires that is a waste of money I wish I never bothered. Everyone tells me how simple it is to use but no one can show me.

When you are monitoring directly through your interface, or through Focusrite Control, there is unfortunately no way to add effects to this signal. However, it is possible to monitor through your DAW and this will monitor the signal with effects, but may result in latency. If you need more info on how to do this in your DAW of choice please let us know!

Drums are typically recorded with more than one microphone. But if you are looking for a single recording microphone source, then yes this would work! However, this device is no longer in production, so you would need to look for a used model. If you are looking for a Scarlett interface to work with a phone, you can look into our latest Scarlett models, they are tested and proven to work with iOS devices. us.focusrite.com/scarlett

Yes, absolutely. The Direct Monitoring feature can be used to monitor your input in real-time, without any noticable latency by taking the input signal and sending it straight to the outputs, bypassing software. This means that you won't hear any processing that you may have applied but you can switch off Direct Monitoring and use the input monitoring feature in your DAW to monitor from your DAW with any processing that you may have applied.

Vocaster can still be a great tool for music production. Vocaster features the high-quality mic preamps Focusrite is known for, but no instrument inputs if you want to record a guitar, bass, etc.. Please let us know if this helps, or if we can answer additional questions.

Yes, if you already have an 18i20, or any interface with an ADAT in port, you can use Scarlett/Clarett+ Octopre to add 8 additional inputs. A second 18i20 can also be configured to work as a standalone preamp. Please let us know if this helps. or if we can answer additional questions.
